Arsenal fans finally have something to get excited about. This may be coming in the form of Lille and Ivory Coast winger Nicolas Pepe.

Reports are; Arsenal have agreed a fee of £72m and the deal will be completed by Monday as he flys in over the weekend for his medical.

For around 10 years Arsenal fans have been crying out for a world class defensive midfielder or centre back to secure things defensively as their attacks haven’t been the issue. The decision to bring in Nicolas Pepe isn’t exactly what we all expected, but you must admit the new acquisition gives Arsenal one of the best front 3’s in the world and perhaps the best in the premier league?

Do Arsenal have the best front 3 in the premier league?

Perhaps the decision to replace Arsene Wenger is finally paying off. Arsenal fans have wanted the club to spend big money for many seasons,  are they finally getting what they want?

The best front three on the planet will go to Barcelona this year without any doubt. In fact if they get Neymar it could be the greatest attack ever assembled, more like something from a Marvel team-up film.

In the Premier League however, Arsenal could have a case for best front 3. The realistic competition includes Manchester City, Liverpool and there’s some who would include Tottenham in this debate. Lets take a look at the front three options each of these teams have next season.

Manchester City’s front 3

This seasons defending champions Man City have been formidable in attack for 3 or 4 seasons in a row. With the ever consistent Aguero, prolific Sterling and on his day unplayable Leroy Sane, Man City are unstoppable for any defense who loses concentration for second. Packed with pace, goals and confidence, this front three has a high chance of dominating the league once again in the 2019-2020 campaign.

To add to this attack, Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus can all fill in when needed to create an attack just as capable as the players above. Although it’s more likely that Bernardo Silva will play a more central playmaking role this season as a pre-transition to ageing David Silva leaving at the end of the year.

Man City front 3 rating: 8.5/10

If City’s front 3 were all 6ft tall they wouldn’t have a single weakness. For that reason the lack of height gives them an overall 9, which is further dragged down by the current Leroy Sane uncertainty and poor form to an 8.5.

Liverpool’s front 3

Feared all over the world for good reason. This Champions League winning front 3 have goals, electric pace and a very high work ethic closing down from the front.

Mo Salah is arguably one of the top 10 players in the world at his best, Mane is a nightmare for any defender and Firmino adds something completely different that isn’t replicated by any other team.

Liverpool front 3 rating: 9/10

Liverpool don’t get a 10 for two reasons, one the long ball hail mary approach is becoming predictable and won’t work as well next season. Two their squad depth is very poor. If any of the main 3 get injured they’re in trouble.

Tottenham’s front 3

The nearly men of Tottenham did it again last season being pipped to glory by Liverpool in the Champions League final. That isn’t to say that they won’t be better next season however.

With Harry Kane being one of the best if not the best natural centre forward in the game, Son coming off the back of one of the best seasons of his career and it seems as though Dybala is ready to make the switch to North London according to recent reports. Tottenham are set up to challenge for the Premier League, if all deals go through of course.

Tottenham front 3 rating: 8 or 9.5/10

Although this would likely be the best attack on paper, the deal for Dybala has not gone through yet. With Lucas in the front 3 it’s an 8/10, with Dybala it’s the best attack in the league. It has pace, height, skill, goals and creativity. Each player is different which creates uncertainty for defenses. Son could run in behind, Kane could get a header or roam around the box getting the tap-ins and Dybala has the ability to cut in or beat his man on the outside.

Arsenal’s front 3

Finally Arsenal once again have an attack that can compete with the best in the league.

Between Lacazette, Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe there isn’t a defender in the league who is going to look forward to marking any of these. All players score goals, have top level pace, can beat a man and at 5,9, 6ft and 6ft 2 they have the option of loading the box.

This Arsenal attack is going to be devastating next season, it’s a certainty that Arsenal fans will get some edge of their seat moments with blistering pace in all front 3 areas. If the midfield can find them Arsenal are going to score a lot of goals and upset a few of the big boys.

Arsenal front 3 rating: 9/10

If we’re comparing front 3’s Messi Griezmann and Neymar/Suarez is the 10 standard. Therefore Arsenals new look front 3 recieve a healthy 9 as long as all 3 strikers perform and can play together.
