Bugatti have been the kings of speed for some time now. Ever since the Veyron the entire motoring world sat back and recognised that something special had happened.

However with over 10 years having passed since the Veyron, a new contender has arrived to take on Bugatti’s speed dominance. The Hennessey Venom F5.

The Chiron has a record top speed of 261mph and the Veyron Super Sport 268mph. The Venom F5? 270mph, with the Texas based company Hennessey claiming it can easily do 300mph!

It’s a street legal car, but it’s unlikely that many will be seen out on the roads with a price tag of $1.6m and only 24 being built.

The Venom F5 features a carbon fiber body and mid-engine chassis, rear-wheel-drive and a twin-turbocharged 7.4-liter V8 rated at 1,600 hp and 1,300 lb-ft of torque.

If 300mph wasn’t enough speed for you, then get a load of these stats:

0 – 186mph in 10 seconds

0 – 249 in 30 seconds

These are the figures that Hennessey are claiming when it comes to their new beast, which would shatter even more records if true.

It’s pretty likely that Hennessey are telling the truth, after-all their last model the Venom GT managed to hit 270mph with a lot less power and a less aerodynamic design.
