Getting in shape sounds so simple. Eat right, train hard and stay away from alcohol. But with millions of men following these exact instructions and still not getting the bodies they want, it raises a few questions.

  1. Are we being lied to?
  2. How are fitness models, actors and athletes getting these perfect bodies?

The Truth

Firstly you’re not being lied to, you’re just not being told everything.

In short, over the last 60 years, no man has ever ran under 10 seconds, won a world title or became a fitness model without what we would call “help”.

Help in most cases means steroids, but not always. Help represents any ergogenic aid that increases performance or physical appearance.

This could be a protein shake, natural steroids, standard steroids or even a pre-workout.

However in the majority of modern cases, steroids are the special ingredient. The steroid transformation has a list that includes Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal , Manny Pacquiao, The Rock, Justin Gatlin, Asafa Powell, Tom Hardy, Ben Affleck and Jon Jones. These are all pretty obvious cases to the trained eye.

If you really wanted to make an accurate guess, you could add Usain Bolt, Mayweather, McGregor, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Joshua to that list too.

Asafa Powell was quoted as saying that he took steroids because every one else was. He said that if he didn’t he’d be around 1 second away from the top guys including his team-mate Usain Bolt in the 100m which is a huge distance.

Nate Diaz also claimed that everyone in the UFC is on steroids prior to his fight with Conor McGregor.

NFL players are encouraged to juice up during the off-season and during their later years at college.

The truth is, once one person does it and sets the standard it’s very hard for everyone else to not do it, especially when drug testing isn’t an issue for male fitness models, actors and Instagram icons.

Why Is This Happening?

The modern world isn’t set up for testosterone levels to thrive. This is why men who go to prison get so jacked. They’re away from fast food, alcohol, chemicals, TV, mobile phones, etc.

In society however, men’s testosterone levels are taking a hit and their normal hormone production is all over the place.

This creates a situation where muscle becomes near impossible to build and fat becomes effortless to store, even if you’re hitting the gym 6 days per week and eating clean.

Testosterone levels within men have never been lower, and consequently estrogen levels in men have never been higher.

This is forcing men down a particular alleyway that they don’t necessarily want to go down where they look for “help”.

Natural steroids have been a popular option, standard steroids also. Testosterone injections and supplements are becoming a growing trend in ageing men. This is also why supplement companies are making so much money each year.

Men are realising that they can’t do this alone and it’s making them do things they normally would be against doing.

In my own experience, after years and years of hard training and experimenting, minor to good results have occured. However after just 2 months on natural steroids I’ve gained 30 pounds of muscle, I’m significantly stronger and it’s just all so easy. What’s The Solution?

We’re certainly not saying that steroids are a must if you want to get in shape, we’re just bringing your attention to the fact that they’re used in abundance throughout Hollywood, social media and in sports.

It’s important to know this because it can become demoralising when famous actors are looking like superstars in 4 months, yet you’ve been working hard for 4 years without any real significant results.

There’s also a huge stigma when it comes to things like testosterone supplements, boosters, even natural steroids. However with a modern world designed to lower your testosterone levels there’s not a lot wrong with battling back and giving yourself an edge.

Full blown steroids carry too many health risks, but you can see why so many men are supplementing with multiple different options.

The male fitness world is on it’s face with so many people struggling and a small percentage getting ridiculous results via supplementing, but they’re unwilling to tell people the truth.

The most important aspect is to know the truth, once you have this information you can make better fitness related decisions without wasting your time and feeling like a failure.
