Dan Pena is a no-nonsense entrepreneur who’s amassed a fortune of $50 billion.

His tough love teaching strategy doesn’t go down well with everybody, but it’s hard to argue with someone who’s so successful. Below are Dan’s top 10 tips for finding success in your own life.

  • Practice success before you are successful

You have to act like someone who’s already opperating at a high level. If it’s your first day of business, then put on a suit and speak as though you’ve been doing this for 10 years.

  • Follow what you’re passionate about

If you don’t do something that you’re passionate about, then you’ll simply quit when things get rough.

  • Surround yourself with great people

Your team is crucial to success. You can’t do everything yourself, and you don’t have all of the answers. Allow others to carry some of the burden.

  • Perfection equals paralysis

If you keep testing and waiting until things are perfect, then you’ll never move forward.

  • Focus on the few, not the many

It’s easy to get caught up in every aspect of what you do. But focusing on one or two things and doing them extremely well is the key to getting results.

  • Believe passionately

You have to believe in what you’re doing because no one else will.

  • What gets measured gets accomplished

Keep track of what you’re doing and where you’re going. If you don’t then you’re in the dark as to your progress.

  • Just do it

Stop sitting around, action is the catalyst to everything and anything.

  • Be extremely positive

Things go wrong everyday on your journey to success. Those who become discouraged will dropout quickly.

  • Love yourself

You have to truly believe in yourself. If you don’t, then others will be able to influence you too easily and perhaps discourage you from continuing.
